Sweet & Spicy Korean Fried Chicken

Sweet & Spicy Korean Fried Chicken Recipe

This was the perfect fakeaway. I just wish it wasn’t the hottest day of the year, standing over the hob, I felt like I was melting ๐Ÿ’ฆ

Sticky, sweet with a hint of heat. I decided to serve this with soy egg fried rice and crackers ๐Ÿ˜ There would have been a side of veg, if I actually remembered to cook it! That’s one for our next fakeaway!

Recipe:

Serves 2 โˆš 1 chicken breast
โˆš 2 tbsp plain flour
โˆš 1 tsp garlic
โˆš 1 egg
โˆš 1 onion

For the sauce:

โˆš 1/4 cup honey
โˆš 1 tsp garlic
โˆš 1 tbsp brown sugar
โˆš 1/2 tbsp sesame oil
โˆš 2 tbsp cider vinegar
โˆš 3 tbsp gochujang Korean sauce

Method:

1) Whisk the garlic, egg and salt together.

2) Dice the chicken and dip in the egg and then coat in flour.

3) Shallow fry until golden and cooked through.

4) Remove the chicken from pan and drain the oil. Add all of the sauce ingredients and bring to a gentle boil. Reduce down for 5 minutes.

5) Add a dice onion to the sauce. Add the chicken and continue to reduce for 3-4 minutes.

6) Serve and enjoy your fakeaway!
