Pizza Pockets Recipe
Lots of fun was had in our live cooking class this afternoon to produce a crispy batch of Pizza Pockets ๐๐ This recipe is honestly the best alternative to a standard pizza and achieves it’s golden crisp from using a pastry dough instead of bread. Fab!
A definition of a family favourite. It’s perfect to get your little ones involved and you can choose the pizza fillings that you all LOVE ๐
RECIPE
๐ 150g plain flour
๐ 75g butter
๐ 3 tbsp cold water
๐ 2 tbsp tomato sauce
๐ 60g cheese of choice ๐ Pizza fillings of choice – tomato, pepperoni, ham, chicken, mushroom, sweetcorn
๐ 1 egg to glaze
๐ 1/2 tsp mixed herbs and garlic
METHOD
1) Weigh out the butter and flour into a mixing bowl. Run together to produce fine breadcrumbs. Add the herbs and garlic.
2) Add the water, one spoon at a time and mix to produce a soft dough.
3) Roll out the dough into a large square and cut into 4 equal sized pieces. Spread 1/2 tbsp tomato sauce onto each square and spread evenly.
4) Sprinkle on the cheese and pizza toppings of choice. Make sure it is on the centre of each square of dough.
5) Whisk an egg and brush the edges. Fold over the pastry to make a pocket and seal with your fingers. Use a fork to crimp the edges.
6) Glaze each pizza pocket with egg for that extra shine and bake at 200c for 15 mins until golden.
Enjoy x
