Sticky Orange Chicken

Sticky Orange Chicken

Sticky Orange Chicken Recipe

We have started to enjoy a Chinese inspired dish for dinner each week and this week I decided to try a new recipe for stick orange chicken ๐ŸŠ I made crispy chicken but this would definitely work well if you are not a fan of shallow fried chicken too.

Originally published wasn’t too sure how this would turn out. We do love apricot chicken (recipe can be found on the grid) but for some reason I wasn’t too sure if this would be too fruity but this dish definitely proved me wrong! Once again we loved it โค๏ธ It is so simple and there is actually on 3 ingredients in the sauce! So if you want a speedy meal just griddle your chicken and cook it in the sauce – no need to batter and fry!

Recipe:

1 chicken breast
1 egg, whisked
1/2 cup flour seasoned with salt and pepper
1/2 cup orange marmalade
1/2 cup BBQ sauce
1 tbsp soy sauce
4 tbsp oil of choice, I use sesame oil
1 onion

Method:

1) Dice the chicken and dip in the flour, then egg and flour again. Shake off any excess.

2) Heat the oil and shallow fry the chicken until golden and crispy.

3) Meanwhile, mix together the soy sauce, orange marmalade and BBQ sauce.

4) Remove the chicken from the pan and add the sauces reduce down for 5 minutes.

5) Add the chicken back into the sauce. Add a dice onion and coat. Cook for 5 minutes until sticky.

6) Serve with your choice of noodles or rice. Enjoy.
