Sugary Vanilla Shortbread

Sugary Vanilla Shortbread Recipe

I loved our live Facebook class today, simply because we were learning and making a classic recipe – SHORTBREAD ๐Ÿช

Three ingredients to produce one dough which is ever so versatile, the flavour possibilities are endless! And that’s what is really exciting to me ๐ŸŒŸ

I decided to split my dough in half and make sugary vanilla shortbread and chocolate chips shortbread. Two flavours you will enjoy for sure! But if you are more of a fruity person, the dough works great with the zest and juice of an orange or lemon for that zesty flavour. You could even mix in some chopped fudge, raisins or nuts too ๐Ÿ˜

Recipe

๐Ÿช 150g butter
๐Ÿช 65g caster sugar
๐Ÿช 250g plain flour
๐Ÿช 80g Choc chips/nuts/raisins/fudge/zest and juice 1 lemon/orange

Method

1) Cream together the butter and sugar.

2) Sieve in the flour and mix well to form a soft dough.

3) Mix in you flavour of choice.

4) On a floured surface, roll out the dough until the thickness of a ยฃ1 coin and cut into desired shape.

5) Prick the shortbread with a fork and place on a baking tray.
6) Sprinkle with sugar and bake at 180c for 10 minutes.
