Gingerbread Cookies Recipe

How can you resist a gingerbread cookie when it’s telling you to ‘EAT IT’?! You simply can’t! ๐Ÿช๐Ÿ˜‚ This is a recipe which brings the smell of Christmas no matter what time of the year and I love it! So homely ๐Ÿ’•

Recipe:

Makes approx 30 cookies โœ“ 375g plain flour
โœ“ 1 tsp baking powder
โœ“ 3 tsp ground ginger
โœ“ 120g butter
โœ“ 175g light brown sugar โœ“ 5 tbsp golden syrup
โœ“ 1 egg

Method:

1) In a mixing bowl, weigh and combine the flour, baking powder and ginger.

2) Add the butter and rub together to form breadcrumbs. Mix in the sugar.

3) Mix in the golden syrup and egg until a soft dough is formed. Knead into a ball.

4) Lightly flour the work surface and gently roll out the dough to 1/2cm thick. Using a cookie cutter, cut out then cookies. Repeat until all dough has been used.

5) Place the cookies on a lined baking tray and bake at 180c for 10 mins. Allow to cool and enjoy.
