Fruity Tart Tatin

Fruity Tart Tatin Recipe

Today’s recipe is such a simple yet delicious dessert. With only a small handful of ingredients which you will already have to hand..hopefully!

Here’s my take on the classic Tart Tatin using fresh pears ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ‰ sticky caramel and flaky pastry, what’s not to like?! ๐Ÿ˜ A dollop of thick cream later on and I’ll be go to go!

Recipe:

250g puff pastry
100g butter
150g soft light brown sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
3-4 apples/pears/bananas/plums
Flour to dust

Method:

1) Melt the butter in an oven proof frying pan. Add the sugar and cinnamon, swirl together do not mix with a spoon. Bubble away on a medium heat until the sugar has dissolved.

2) Peel, Decore and slice the fruit into wedges. Add the fruit into the caramel in one layer and continue to reduce until a deep caramel colour has been produced.

3) Meanwhile, on a floured surface roll out the puff pastry until the thickness of a ยฃ1. Trim to shape and size of pan.

4) Line the pastry over the fruit and caramel, tucking in the edges. Bake for 25 mins at 180c.

5) Place a serving dish over the pan and flip out the tart tatin. Be careful of the bubbling caramel and serve.
