GCSE’s is a daunting and fairly stressful time for teenagers and parents. When it comes to cooking its all about two core things; Preperation and Practice.

Hi, it’s Nicole Englander, Founder of Oh! Crumbs Home Bakes.
I am a fully qualified high school teacher with 4+ years of teaching experiencing.
I also have a BSc in Food and Nutrition and PGCE Secondry School Teaching (Food and Nutrition)
Over the years I’ve done everything from preparing GCSE classes and examining GCSE practical classes.
I know exactly what exam boards are looking for and what GCSE students need to know and do in order to get that pass.
STEP 1
The first step of my process is a fact find and maybe an introduction.
The fact find is about understanding where your teen is at now and what/how we can get them to a desired grade within the time frame we have.
STEP 2
After the fact find its time for me to create a structured class and prep a time table suitable on the days and times you can do.
STEP 3
Once step 2 has been approved the lessons begin.
On the days specified your teen will visit my home and we start practicing and learning whats needed to help get that desirable grade!
Do you come to us?
No. Your teen is required to come to our premises where we can prep and ensure everything is as it should be to ensure the class goes as plan with no problems.
Do you guarantee my teen will pass?
As much as I would love to guarantee a pass. It’s impossible for any teacher, private tutor, or cooking class business to promise any sort of result.
Every teen is different and every situation is different.
What I can guarantee from the years of teaching teens is after I’ve taught them they are better off and more knowledgeable about food and prep then before I started teaching.
It’s not something I like bragging about but I’ve never had a school observation mark me anything under a “outstanding” teacher.
How much are your classes?
- Each class is around 60 -90 minutes.
- Cost per class is £45
- Minimum booking is 4 classes
I do not offer individual classes as this is not enough to help your teen pass a Food GCSE.
Mentioned above a teen needs alot of practice and alot of preperation to get those high desirable grades.
Do you offer discounts?
Who provides equipment and food?
Do you cover the theory side?
No this is only for the practical side of the food GCSE.
